Frottage for Sensual Safe Sex

Penetration scares many people, so why all the focus on it? Frottage is french for "rubbing", which in this context means rubbing body to body in a sexually pleasing manner.

This subcategory of sex is unique in which both partners can face each other to kiss while rubbing penises together. Comfort is key, so frottage is the way to go if you want to avoid complicated and strenuous positions.

Frottage is considered a safe sex practice, if there is an absence of open sores. Condoms can also be used as a semen collector if cleanliness is paramount, or for those into semen fetishes. Risk of herpes, and other contact-transmitted diseases can be avoided by dry-humping.

Dry-humping is the term used when there is materiel between genitals separating them. Fully clothed, prolonged stimulation has risks of physical friction and chaffing. This is frequently the preliminary for frottage in the nude.

Penetration anxiety is something I encounter quite frequently, as gays usually describe themselves sexually by the terms "top", "bottom", and "versatile". This usually implies the desire to have penetration during sex. But what of those who don't identify to those limited terms? Terms such as "Oral only", "mutual masturbation", and the like carry stigmas of limitations to "real" sex, which is why many men use the term "top" to describe their sexual role in one word. Top implies that the man does not enjoy anal penetration, which fulfills part of the real situation by definition, but also implies the enjoyment of penetrating, which is misleading to bottoms looking for a good, thorough ass-fucking.

Until a better term is coined, "frottage" is the term I would like to hear from clients if that is what they would like to do with me. The word describes quite a bit for me, since this was the way I discovered the pleasures I can get with my penis as a young boy. But that is a story best left for a separate post!
